The Fall Sale at 1010 Washington Wine & Spirits starts THIS WEDNESDAY, October 23rd and continues through Sunday, November 10th! You will find pink sale tags in every department in the store advertising our best prices on wines, spirits and craft beers. In addition to GREAT prices, there will be extra tastings during the two and one half weeks of the sale to highlight special offerings and introduce you to new taste treats. Sale time is great fun for just about everyone…well… Don, Rob, Darren and Cory are working overtime right now to get ready for the sale, so we aren’t sure that they are having great fun. Their prep work, however, makes it all possible so, thanks to them!
Perhaps in anticipation of the sale, perhaps by happenstance, we have the Dreyfus-Ashby wine tasting tomorrow evening, October 22nd at the Aloft Hotel starting at 6:30 PM. Paul Brown, the Dreyfus-Ashby regional representative, will take us through an evening, the highlight of which (for me) will be a comparison of the Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays produced by the Maison Joseph Drouhin from their historic French Burgundy estates and their newer ventures in Oregon. This should be a CLASSIC comparison of the difference that terroir makes in wine. I think that WE will be the ultimate winners after participating in a really instructive tasting. As always, the price of admission is $25 which will be credited against any purchase you might make of the wines tasted at the event. Time marches on! If you aren’t feeling the Holidays creeping up on you now, you will be soon. The Fall Sale is just a great opportunity to stock your bar and your cellar in anticipation of entertaining friends and family or just having something good to drink as you settle in to watch the Gophers march to a significant bowl game or the Vikings, Timberwolves and Wild to their respective playoffs. It is going to be a GREAT Fall season for so many things!
