We celebrate five years of doing business as 1010 Washington Wine & Spirits on Sunday, January 5th. This is kind of a milestone that demands a special thank you to all of our customers who have allowed us to reach it. We usually say thank you at the end of this piece, but, as already indicated, this is special. Our goal is as it has always been to be the best neighborhood store in the best neighborhood in Minneapolis. Just as the neighborhood has changed and improved over these past five years, we like to think we have too. It is our goal to continue to evolve to serve your needs whatever changes and challenges confront us in the future. We wouldn’t be here without you, and we are truly grateful.
We told you last month about the impending tariffs. We also told you that we are going to have to start charging for bags on January 2nd because of a new city ordinance. Remember that we are closing at 8PM on Tuesday, December 31st. We are closed on January 1st. When we reopen on January 2nd, we expect to up and running on a brand new cash register system. We are very excited about the new system, but having lived through conversions in the past, we are going to ask your forbearance in advance as there is bound to be a period of getting accustomed to what is new. Time marches on.
Our Anniversary Sale will begin on Wednesday, January 8th and continue through Sunday, January 26th. We will start the new decade off with some great deals on great wines, spirits and craft beers.
