Stick Your Nose In It. Don't Be Shy...

Demystifying Wine

Stop by and let us help you broaden your horizons.

In our experience, wine shops seem to intimidate their customers with the superior wine knowledge of their staff.  So, when we created our own store experience, as a team, we agreed we were going to try our hardest to set the table for our customers and let them decide what they like best, from the selections we made available.

To that end, we are constantly looking for the best examples of fine wines from both emerging and classical areas of production.  We put out as much information as we can about the wines from our own experience as well as independent reviewers, but at the end of the day what matters most is what YOU like.

We schedule regular in store tastings every Friday and Saturday from 2PM to 7PM.  Please join us!  It is a great opportunity for us to get to know you better, and for you to better define your own taste in wine.  Additionally, we will continue to schedule special events during the week to highlight special wines as well as some of the unique personalities in the wine industry who come through town.

A number of people have asked us about conducting private tastings for their friends and neighbors outside of the store.  Drop us an email, or better yet, come on into the store and we will talk about what you want to accomplish with a tasting and how we can help make it work best.  We can help you and your group with the selection of wines, and we are always happy to make some suggestions on how to become more astute tasters….and wine consumers.

In case you haven't noticed, we have added a section in this news letter called  "Cellar Starters". These are wines that we either have on hand, or have received our allocation for the year. These are expensive, small production, highly rated and intended to age for several years. We are highlighting these items because... well... they deserve to be highlighted, but also because we know that everyone is looking for a special bottle of wine. The definition of special depends on the person.

At the end of the day, the wines, spirits and beers we sell are merely beverages.  Many of them come from exotic places, have wonderful histories, and multiple layers of flavor.  Let us help you discover what you like best.
